Product Introduction
Razumab 2.3mg injection contains the active ingredient Ranibizumab, an anti-neovascularisation agent and vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A) antagonist. It is used in adults to treat several eye diseases that cause vision impairment.
The medicine is indicated for wet age-related macular degeneration (AMD), a persistent eye disease that causes loss of the ability to see straight ahead and may make reading, driving, or performing other daily activities more difficult. Razumab 2.3mg injection is also used to treat myopic choroidal neovascularization (mCNV), a complication in near-sighted people where new blood vessels grow in the back of the eye, and to treat macular edema following retinal vein occlusion, an eye disease caused by blockage of blood flow from the eye that leads to blurred vision and vision loss. It is also indicated for diabetic macular edema, an eye disease caused by diabetes that can lead to vision loss, and diabetic retinopathy, damage to the eyes caused by diabetes.
Do not use Razumab 2.3mg injection if you are allergic to Ranibizumab or other ingredients in this medicine. Do not use this medicine if you have an infection in or around your eye, or if you have eye pain or redness.
Inform your doctor immediately if you develop eye pain or increased discomfort, worsening eye redness, blurred or decreased vision, an increased number of small particles in your vision, or increased sensitivity to light. Inform your doctor if you have a prior history of eye conditions or eye treatments, or if you have had a stroke before starting treatment.
Uses
Razumab 2.3mg injection is used to treat several eye diseases causing vision impairment, including, Age-related macular degeneration Macular edema Diabetic macular edema and retinopathy Myopic choroidal neovascularization Retinal vein occlusion
How it works
Razumab 2.3mg injection specifically recognizes and binds to a protein called human vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A) present in the eye. In excess, VEGF-A causes abnormal blood vessel growth and swelling in the eye, leading to impairment of vision in certain eye diseases. This medicine can block its actions and prevent this abnormal growth and swelling. This injection can help to stabilize and improve your vision.
How to Use
Razumab 2.3mg injection is administered as an injection into your eye by an eye doctor under a local anesthetic. Your doctor will decide the dose and frequency of the injection based on your disease condition. Do not self-administer the medicine.
Side Effects
Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all drugs cause side effects, not everyone gets them. Common Pain and swelling in the eye Bleeding in the eye Blurred vision Urinary tract infection Skin rashes Discharge from the eye Serious Tear of the layer in the back of the eye Flashes of light in the eye Temporary loss of sight Clouding of lens Infection of the eyeball
Expert Tips
The use of Razumab 2.3mg injection in children and adolescents has not been established and is therefore not recommended. This medicine can be used for people of 65 years of age and over with dose adjustments. If the eye becomes red, sensitive to light, painful, or develops a change in vision, seek immediate care from an ophthalmologist. Your doctor will monitor the condition of your eye and, depending on how you respond to the treatment, will decide if and when you need to receive further treatment.
