Product Introduction
Rebif 44mcg Injection contains the active substance Interferon beta-1a, an immunomodulator. Interferons are natural proteins produced by the body to combat infections and diseases. The interferon beta-1a in Rebif 44mcg Injection is identical to the interferon beta-1a found naturally in humans. This medication is used to treat relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis, an autoimmune condition affecting the central nervous system, including the brain and spinal cord. Rebif 44mcg Injection is not recommended for use in children and adolescents due to limited data on its efficacy and safety in these age groups, particularly in children under ten years of age.
Inform your doctor if you are allergic to Rebif 44mcg Injection or any of its components, have severe depression, suicidal thoughts, uncontrolled epilepsy, serious kidney or liver disease, low white blood cell count or low platelet count, cardiac problems, or irritation at the injection site. Report any changes in mood, suicidal thoughts, or deterioration of existing conditions to your doctor. Clear communication with your doctor regarding your medical history and current medications is essential for safe use of Rebif 44mcg Injection.
Uses
Multiple sclerosis
How it works
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is the nerve damage in the brain and spinal cord. In this condition, the body's immune system mistakenly attacks its myelin, the protective covering around nerve fibers. When myelin is damaged, the link between the brain and other body parts is disrupted, leading to MS symptoms. Rebif 44mcg Injection operates by inhibiting the immune system's attack on myelin. By doing so, it diminishes the frequency and intensity of relapses and hinders the progression of disability in individuals with multiple sclerosis.
How to Use
You can inject Rebif 44mcg Injection yourself without the help of your doctor if they have trained you to do this. Perform the first injection under the supervision of an appropriately qualified healthcare professional. If you have trouble handling the syringe, ask your doctor, who may be able to help. Your physician will decide the dosage and frequency based on the severity. Inject at a different site each time to avoid the risk of skin and muscle irritation. Please do not use it on a bruised, sore, infected, or wounded part of the skin. The injection should be kept at room temperature for half an hour before use. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water and dry them. Keep sticking plasters and alcohol wipes handy in case you need them. Your doctor will tell you how long you must keep using Rebif 44mcg Injection.
