Product Introduction
Revofer 1000mg Injection is an intravenous iron replacement therapy used to treat iron deficiency anaemia (IDA), a condition where the body lacks sufficient iron to produce healthy red blood cells. Iron is essential for the formation of haemoglobin, the protein in red blood cells responsible for carrying oxygen throughout the body. When iron levels decline, patients may experience fatigue, weakness, dizziness, pale skin, and shortness of breath. This injection is particularly useful for patients who cannot tolerate oral iron tablets or have not responded adequately to them. The medicine contains ferric carboxymaltose, a stable iron complex that permits high-dose iron to be delivered directly into the bloodstream. It provides faster and more effective replenishment of iron stores compared to oral supplements. Revofer is commonly prescribed in patients with chronic conditions such as chronic kidney disease (CKD), inflammatory bowel disease, or heavy menstrual bleeding, where ongoing blood loss or poor iron absorption is a concern. It restores iron levels more efficiently, improving energy levels and quality of life. Revofer 1000mg Injection is approved for use in adults and children above one year of age. It is administered by a healthcare professional, typically in a hospital or clinic setting. Your doctor may perform blood tests to assess iron levels before and after treatment to ensure the injection is both safe and effective. This injection should only be used when the cause of anaemia is confirmed to be iron deficiency. Proper diagnosis and monitoring are essential to achieving optimal outcomes from this treatment.
Uses
Revofer injection uses are: Treatment of iron deficiency anaemia in adults and pediatric patients aged 1 year and above Iron deficiency anaemia in adults with chronic kidney disease who are not on dialysis
How it works
