Product Introduction
Ritulasta 500mg Injection contains rituximab as its active ingredient. It is prescribed to treat several medical conditions in adults. This medicine may be used alone or in combination with other therapies for the treatment of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a cancer affecting B-lymphocytes, and chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL), one of the most common cancers involving B-cells. It is also indicated for the treatment of moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis, an autoimmune disorder in which the immune system attacks the body's own joints, when used together with methotrexate in adults. Other approved uses include granulomatosis with polyangiitis and microscopic polyangiitis, inflammatory blood vessel disorders mainly affecting the lungs and kidneys, in adults and children aged 2 years and older. It is also used to treat moderate to severe pemphigus vulgaris, an autoimmune disease that causes painful blisters on the skin and the lining of the mouth, throat, nose, and genitals.
Ritulasta 500mg Injection belongs to the class of medicines known as anti-CD20 monoclonal antibodies. Do not use this injection if you are allergic to rituximab or any of its ingredients, have a weakened immune system, or are suffering from a severe active infection. Before starting treatment, tell your doctor if you have heart disease, heart failure, breathing problems, or a history of hepatitis B infection, as the virus may become active again in some patients and lead to serious complications. This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
Common side effects of Ritulasta 500mg Injection include blood infections, reduced red blood cell count, dizziness, swelling of the face or body, itchy skin, diarrhoea, excessive sweating, and changes in blood pressure. Women who can become pregnant should use effective contraception during treatment and for 12 months after receiving the final dose. This medicine may also cause serious infusion-related reactions during administration or within 24 hours after the infusion. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience high blood pressure, chest pain, headache, breathing difficulty, vomiting, skin rash, or swelling of the throat after receiving the injection.
Uses
Non-hodgkinâs lymphoma (NHL) Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) Rheumatoid Arthritis Granulomatosis with polyangiitis or microscopic polyangiitis Pemphigus vulgaris
How it works
Ritulasta 100mg injection is a monoclonal antibody that targets the antigen CD20 expressed on the cell surface of B-lymphocytes (a type of white blood cells). When this medicine binds to the B-cell, it induces cell death in NHL and CLL. The binding action blocks cell activation and growth and cause anticancer effects. It inhibits rheumatoid factor production, antigen presentation, T-cell activation, and proinflammatory cytokine production in rheumatoid arthritis.
How to Use
It should only be administered by a trained doctor or nurse. Do not self-administer the injection. Before giving Ritulasta 100mg injection, you will be given other medications (pre-medication) to reduce the possible side effects. Your doctor will decide the dose and duration of your treatment based on the disease severity and other factors. It will be given as an intravenous infusion, and you will be monitored carefully for any unwanted side effects.

There is limited information available on the safety of this medicine in renal failure patients; inform your physician if you have kidney disease.
