Product Introduction
Rizact 5mg Tablet contains Rizatriptan as its active component. It is used for the treatment of migraines, including migraines with and without aura. It is also indicated for cluster headaches, another type of severe headache. The medication often relieves multiple migraine symptoms, including pain, nausea, and sensitivity to light and sound. Rebound headaches occur when medications used to treat headaches are overused, which can worsen headache symptoms. It can help patients return to their normal activities.
Patients with a history of hypersensitivity reactions (allergic reactions) to Rizact 5 should discuss this with their healthcare provider before taking it. It should not be used by patients with a history of ischemic heart disease, including angina (chest pain due to reduced blood flow to the heart) or myocardial infarction. Patients with uncontrolled high blood pressure (hypertension) should not take this medication, as it can further increase blood pressure, potentially posing health risks.
Rizact 5mg should not be used in patients with a history of hemiplegic or basilar migraine. It should not be used within 24 hours of taking another triptan medication. It should not be used in patients with severe renal impairment (kidney dysfunction).
Rizact 5mg is approved for acute migraine treatment in adolescents aged 6 to 17 years. This medication can be used in elderly patients, though caution is advised, particularly if other underlying health conditions are present.
