Product Introduction

Rizatrip ODT 5mg Tablet contains Rizatriptan as its active component. It is used primarily for the treatment of migraines, including migraines with and without aura. It is also used to treat cluster headaches, which are another type of severe headache. The medication often relieves multiple migraine symptoms, including pain, nausea, and sensitivity to light and sound. Rebound headaches can occur when medications used to treat headaches are overused, which may worsen headache symptoms. The medication can help patients return to their normal activities.

Do not use this medication if you have a history of hypersensitivity reactions or allergic reactions to Rizatrip ODT 5mg Tablet. Discuss any such history with your healthcare provider before taking it. It should not be used by patients with a history of ischemic heart disease, including angina (chest pain due to reduced blood flow to the heart) or previous heart attack. Patients with uncontrolled high blood pressure (hypertension) should not take this medication, as it can further increase blood pressure, potentially posing health risks. Patients should not use it if they have a history of hemiplegic or basilar migraine. It should not be used within 24 hours of taking another triptan medication. It should not be used in patients with severe renal impairment (kidney dysfunction).

This medication is approved for acute migraine treatment in adolescents aged 6 to 17 years. It can be used in elderly patients, though caution is advised, particularly if other underlying health conditions exist.
