Romy 250mcg Injection is a platelet-stimulating agent containing the active ingredient Romiplostim. It is used to treat immune primary thrombocytopenia (ITP). ITP occurs when the body's immune system mistakenly attacks and destroys its own platelets, resulting in low platelet counts. This medicine is indicated in adults and children aged 18 years and over with immune primary thrombocytopenia when other treatments have proven ineffective. It is prescribed when immunoglobulins, corticosteroids, or splenectomy (surgical spleen removal) have not successfully increased platelet counts.

This injection is contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity or allergic reactions to other medicines produced by DNA technology using the micro-organism Escherichia coli (E. coli). Before receiving this injection, inform your physician about certain conditions including liver problems, cancer, recent surgery, smoking habits, and current use of birth control pills. These factors may impact the safety and effectiveness of the medication, and your physician must be aware of them to determine if Romy 250mcg Injection is suitable for you or whether any adjustments to your treatment plan are necessary.

During treatment with this medicine, your physician will monitor your blood tests regularly to assess for abnormalities that may indicate bone marrow changes. If abnormalities are detected, your doctor will evaluate their significance and determine the appropriate course of action, as this medicine has been associated with major changes in the bone marrow. Depending on the findings, your doctor may decide to continue or discontinue treatment.

Romy 250mcg Injection is not recommended for pregnant patients unless specifically indicated by your physician. Inform your physician if you are pregnant, suspect pregnancy, or are planning pregnancy before initiating treatment. It is not known whether this medicine is present in human milk. Therefore, breastfeeding should be avoided.
