Product Introduction

Rosuvas EZ 10mg Tablet contains two active ingredients, Rosuvastatin and Ezetimibe, in a single tablet. Rosuvastatin belongs to the group of medicines called HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors (statins), while Ezetimibe belongs to the class known as 2-Azetidinones. This combination is used to lower total cholesterol, LDL (bad cholesterol), and triglyceride levels in the blood, while also helping to increase HDL (good cholesterol). It is prescribed for patients whose cholesterol levels are not adequately controlled by diet alone and for individuals with heart disease. Rosuvas EZ 10mg Tablet helps reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke, procedures to improve blood flow to the heart, and hospitalization due to chest pain. This medicine is not intended for weight loss.

Do not take Rosuvas EZ 10mg Tablet if you are allergic to Rosuvastatin, Ezetimibe, or any of the ingredients in this medicine. It is generally not recommended for children and adolescents below 18 years of age. Avoid using this medicine if you have liver disease, severe kidney impairment, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Stop taking the tablet and seek medical advice immediately if you develop severe skin rash, skin peeling, blistering, or mouth sores after use. Inform your doctor before starting treatment if you have kidney or liver problems, muscle pain, respiratory failure, are older than 70 years, or regularly consume alcohol. This medication may also increase the risk of developing diabetes.

Uses

Reduces total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, and triglyceride levels in the blood.

How it works

This medicine reduces your cholesterol in two ways: it reduces the cholesterol absorbed in your digestive tract and the cholesterol your body makes by itself. Rosuvastatin is an HMG CoA-reductase inhibitor; it increases the number of hepatic LDL receptors on the cell surface to enhance the uptake and breakdown of LDL and inhibits hepatic synthesis of VLDL (very low-density lipoprotein), thereby reducing the total number of cholesterol levels. Ezetimibe inhibits cholesterol absorption in the small intestine; it localizes at the brush border of the small intestine and decreases the delivery of intestinal cholesterol to the liver; this reduces hepatic cholesterol stores and increases cholesterol clearance from the blood.

How to Use

Your doctor will decide the dose and duration of Rosuvas EZ 10mg tablet based on the disease condition and other factors. Always take this medicine as prescribed by your doctor. Take the tablet at the same time every day, with or without food. Do not break, chew, crush, or break the tablet. Swallow the whole tablet with water.

Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all drugs cause side effects, not everyone gets them.
