Product Introduction

Rptel 40mg tablet is an antihypertensive agent containing Telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor antagonist. Angiotensin II is a naturally occurring substance that constricts blood vessels and increases blood pressure. This medicine is used to treat high blood pressure (essential hypertension) in adults, specifically primary hypertension not caused by underlying conditions. It works by blocking the effects of angiotensin II, allowing blood vessels to relax and reducing blood pressure. It is also used to reduce the risk of cardiovascular events (stroke, heart attack, or cardiac failure) in adults.

Do not use Rptel 40mg tablet if you are allergic to Telmisartan or any other ingredients. Avoid this medicine if you have severe liver disease (cholestasis or biliary obstruction), diabetes, or impaired kidney function that has been treated with the antihypertensive agent aliskiren.

Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you have liver, kidney, or heart disease. Also notify your doctor if you have renal artery stenosis (narrowing of one or both renal arteries), kidney transplant, elevated aldosterone levels (affecting water and salt regulation), low blood pressure, elevated potassium levels, or diabetes.

Rptel 40mg tablet is not recommended during early pregnancy and should not be used beyond the first three months of pregnancy. Use in patients aged 18 years and below is not recommended. Inform your doctor if you have lactose intolerance, as this tablet contains lactose.
