Safimao 100mg Tablet contains the active component safinamide. This medication is used to treat Parkinson's disease, a neurodegenerative disorder affecting movement. It helps reduce symptoms such as tremors, stiffness, and slowness of movement.
Patients with hypersensitivity or allergic reaction to safinamide or any component of this tablet should avoid this medication. Do not use concurrently or within 14 days of discontinuing other monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitors, as this can lead to potentially serious drug interactions and increase the risk of serotonin syndrome. This medication may not be suitable for patients with pheochromocytoma due to its potential to increase blood pressure and stimulate the release of certain hormones.
Patients with kidney impairment should use Safimao 100mg Tablet with caution. Safety and efficacy in children have not been established, so it is not typically recommended for paediatric use.
