Safimao 50mg Tablet contains the active component safinamide. This medication is indicated for the treatment of Parkinson's disease, a neurodegenerative disorder affecting movement. It helps reduce symptoms of Parkinson's disease including tremors, stiffness, and slowness of movement.
Patients with known hypersensitivity or allergic reaction to safinamide or any component of this tablet should not use this medication. Avoid concurrent use or use within 14 days of discontinuing other monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitors, as this can result in potentially serious drug interactions and increase the risk of serotonin syndrome. This medication may not be suitable for patients with pheochromocytoma due to its potential to increase blood pressure and stimulate the release of certain hormones.
Patients with impaired kidney function should use Safimao 50mg Tablet with caution. Safety and efficacy in children have not been established; therefore, use in the paediatric population is not typically recommended. This medication can be used in older adults, though caution may be warranted due to age-related changes in drug metabolism and potential for concurrent health conditions.
