Product Introduction

Samflav 1000mg tablet contains micronized purified flavonoid fragment from Rutaceae as its active component. It is indicated for chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) and related conditions. CVI is a condition in which the veins of the legs, particularly the lower limbs, have impaired ability to return blood to the heart efficiently. The tablet may relieve symptoms associated with varicose veins, which are swollen and twisted veins that commonly occur in the legs. It can help reduce swelling and discomfort. It is sometimes prescribed to manage haemorrhoids, which are swollen blood vessels in the rectum or anus that may cause pain, bleeding, and discomfort. It can be prescribed to reduce oedema, particularly when oedema is related to venous insufficiency or other circulatory conditions. While not a primary treatment for lymphoedema, it may be considered as part of a comprehensive management approach for symptom relief and improved circulation in cases where lymphoedema is secondary to venous insufficiency. Patients with known hypersensitivity or allergy to micronized purified flavonoid fraction Rutaceae or any component of the medication should not use this tablet. It is not indicated for acute deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or pulmonary embolism (PE). In patients with severe renal impairment, medication clearance from the body may be compromised, and use of this tablet may require adjustment or be avoided due to potential drug accumulation concerns. Samflav 1000mg tablet is typically not indicated for use in paediatric patients, and its safety and efficacy in paediatric populations have not been established. Use is primarily in adults.
