Product Introduction
Samtide 50mg Tablet contains the active ingredient bicalutamide. It is used for the treatment of advanced prostate cancer. It belongs to the category of drugs called non-steroidal anti-androgens. It is prescribed along with a Luteinizing Hormone-Releasing Hormone (LHRH) analog or surgical removal of testicles. Samtide 50mg Tablet should be taken with or without food but must be taken at a fixed time every day. Dosage of the medication will depend on the condition of the patient. This medication should be taken as prescribed by the doctor. Do not exceed the prescribed dose as it causes serious side effects and this medicine must be taken even when the patient is feeling well. It forms part of androgen deprivation therapy, a combination of radiation, surgical and hormonal therapy in high-risk patients. Androgen deprivation therapy lowers the levels of testosterone considerably. Prostate cancer is sensitive to androgen and hence, this treatment aims to counteract the source and effect of androgen. Inform your physician immediately if patients with this condition experience side effects such as blood in urine or severe allergic reactions due to this treatment.
