Product Introduction

Sazo 1000mg Tablet contains Sulfasalazine as its active component. It is used to treat certain inflammatory conditions, particularly those affecting the gastrointestinal tract. It functions as a disease-modifying antirheumatic drug (DMARD) in the management of rheumatoid arthritis, a chronic inflammatory autoimmune disorder that primarily affects the joints. By targeting the underlying disease process, it helps manage symptoms and may slow disease progression and joint damage. The medication treats inflammatory bowel diseases including ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease. It helps maintain remission in inflammatory bowel diseases, reducing the frequency of flare-ups and improving quality of life for patients with these chronic conditions.

Sulfasalazine should be avoided in patients with known hypersensitivity or allergic reaction to Sulfasalazine or any of its components. It should not be used in individuals with complete intestinal or urinary tract obstruction. Avoid this medication in patients with porphyria. Individuals with severe blood disorders such as aplastic anaemia or agranulocytosis should not use it. It may be used in children under specific circumstances, such as when treating juvenile idiopathic arthritis or other inflammatory conditions. Close monitoring of liver and kidney function is important, and potential interactions with other medications should be assessed.
