Product Introduction

Sclerogem DR 240mg Capsule is an immunosuppressant containing the active ingredient Dimethyl Fumarate. It is used primarily to treat relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis (MS), including relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis and active secondary progressive multiple sclerosis. The medication helps reduce the frequency of relapses and slows disease progression.

This medicine is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity or allergy to Dimethyl Fumarate or any of its components. Before starting treatment with Sclerogem DR 240mg Capsule, your doctor will conduct essential tests to evaluate white blood cell counts and liver and kidney function. Periodic monitoring will continue throughout treatment.

Inform your doctor if you have severe kidney disease, severe liver disease, stomach or bowel issues, or serious infections such as herpes zoster (shingles), as these conditions require discussion before beginning this medication. Do not use this drug if progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML), a rare brain infection, is suspected or confirmed.

Sclerogem DR 240mg Capsule can be used in children and adults aged 13 years and above. Your doctor will prescribe this medicine during pregnancy only if necessary. If you are pregnant, suspect you may be pregnant, or are planning pregnancy, inform your doctor before starting treatment. It is unknown whether this medicine passes into breast milk; consult your doctor before breastfeeding.

Uses

Treat relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (MS)

How it works

Dimethyl Fumarate is thought to work by activating a pathway called the Nrf2 pathway, which helps to protect cells from oxidative stress and inflammation. It can reduce inflammation in the central nervous system, which is a key factor in the progression of Multiple sclerosis (MS).

How to Use

Take the Sclerogem DR 240mg Capsule as advised by your physician. Do not crush, chew, or open the medicine. Your physician will decide the correct dosage and duration based on age, body weight, and disease condition. Only stop taking the capsule if your doctor advises you to stop.

Expert Tips

A low white blood cell count, also known as leukopenia, can occur as a side effect of taking Sclerogem DR 240mg Capsules (DMF). White blood cells are essential for fighting infections, so it's important to take special care to minimise the risk of infections while on this medication. Wash your hands frequently with soap and water, especially before eating or touching your face. Avoid close contact with individuals who have contagious illnesses.
