Product Introduction
A Secure Port Mini Max Catheter consists of a flexible tube (catheter) connected to a self-sealing silicone septum enclosed in titanium, stainless steel, or plastic (injection port). It is designed to allow repeated access to the vascular system. This port system enables administration of medications, fluids, and blood products, as well as withdrawal of blood samples on multiple occasions. It reduces the need for frequent dressing changes or site care and lowers the risk of infection. It is used in patients requiring multiple intravenous access points, undergoing long-term chemotherapy, and those needing frequent blood transfusions.
Uses
Long-term chemotherapy, fluids, etc., Frequent blood transfusion or sampling Multiple sites for IV access and lacking useable peripheral IV sites
How it works
Port is a medical device sutured under the skin, usually in the chest wall. Secure port mini max catheter connects the port to a vein. The port has a septum through which medications can be injected, and blood samples can be drawn repeatedly with less discomfort.
How to Use
Secure Port Mini Max will only be attached by your physician. Initially, they will secure it with a bandage until the skin around it heals.
Side Effects
Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all medications cause side effects, not everyone gets them. Serious: Pain, discomfort, swelling in the shoulder, neck, or arm Pain or redness around the port site Common: Burning sensation Fever Unusual drainage from the injected site
