Product Introduction
Septriol Capsule contains calcitriol as its active ingredient. It is used to treat conditions related to calcium and bone metabolism, including hypocalcaemia (low blood calcium), hypoparathyroidism (low parathyroid hormone), chronic kidney disease, osteoporosis (weakened bones), rickets, osteomalacia (softening of bones), psoriasis, and secondary hyperparathyroidism (imbalanced calcium metabolism). The medication helps regulate calcium and phosphorus levels, promote bone health, support overall bodily functions, and help manage parathyroid hormone levels and related complications. It may also have a role in immune function, cancer prevention, heart health, diabetes management, mood regulation, muscle strength, and autoimmune conditions.
Septriol Capsule should be avoided in patients with known hypersensitivity or allergic reaction to calcitriol or any medication containing calcitriol. The medication should not be used in individuals with hypercalcaemia (high blood calcium levels), vitamin D toxicity, malabsorption syndromes, and high levels of vitamin D metabolites. Patients should inform their healthcare provider immediately if they have any of these conditions.
In children, calcitriol is used for conditions such as rickets or growth-related issues. In older adults, it may be used to support bone health and prevent fractures. Dosage and monitoring are carefully managed by healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective use across these age groups.
