Product Introduction
Seroflo Junior Inhaler contains Fluticasone and Salmeterol as its active ingredients. This combination medicine is prescribed to treat asthma in children and adolescents. Fluticasone is a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation in the airways, while Salmeterol is a long-acting bronchodilator that relaxes the airway muscles to improve breathing. Seroflo Junior Inhaler is recommended for children whose asthma is not adequately controlled with other medications. It helps prevent asthma attacks and provides long-term control of symptoms such as wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, and shortness of breath. This inhaler should not be used to relieve sudden asthma attacks, for which a fast-acting rescue inhaler is required.
Before using Seroflo Junior Inhaler, inform your doctor if your child has heart disease, lung infections such as tuberculosis, diabetes, thyroid disorders, or any other underlying medical condition. Do not use this medicine if your child is allergic to fluticasone, salmeterol, or any of its ingredients. Treatment should not be stopped abruptly, as doing so may worsen asthma symptoms. If discontinuation is necessary, your doctor will gradually reduce the dose. Long-term use, particularly at high doses, may increase the risk of side effects such as Cushing’s syndrome, adrenal suppression, delayed growth in children, and adrenal crisis during periods of severe stress or surgery. Avoid using this inhaler with strong CYP3A inhibitors, including Ritonavir, as they may increase the risk of adverse effects. Since the inhaler contains lactose, patients with severe lactose intolerance should consult their doctor before use.
Uses
Seroflo Junior Inhaler is used in the treatment of the following: Asthma management in patients whose symptoms are not controlled by other medications. Prevention of asthma attacks. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) management includes symptoms like wheezing and shortness of breath.
How it works
The Seroflo Junior Inhaler reduces airway inflammation (Fluticasone) and relaxes the smooth muscles in the airways (Salmeterol). This dual action improves breathing and helps manage asthma and COPD symptoms.
How to Use
Administer the Seroflo Junior Inhaler via an inhaler or dry powder inhaler, typically twice a dayâonce in the morning and once in the evening. For asthma, take two inhalations per dose, while for COPD, one inhalation per dose is typically recommended. Follow the prescribed dosage exactly and avoid exceeding it. After each use, rinse your mouth to reduce the risk of side effects like oral thrush. Always consult a healthcare professional for guidance on proper usage.
