Product Introduction

Sevalac 800mg tablet contains sevelamer, a phosphate binder. It is used to manage hyperphosphatemia (high blood phosphate levels) in adult patients undergoing dialysis (hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis) and patients with chronic kidney disease who have elevated serum phosphorus levels. It should be used alongside other treatments, such as calcium supplements and vitamin D, to prevent bone disease. High blood phosphorus levels can cause calcification, where hard deposits form and stiffen blood vessels, affecting blood flow.

Do not take Sevalac 800mg tablet if you are allergic to sevelamer or any ingredient in this medication. Avoid this medicine if you have low phosphate levels or bowel obstruction.

Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. Notify your doctor if you have difficulty swallowing or if your stomach and bowel have problems moving food. Also inform your doctor if you currently have bowel inflammation or have had major stomach or bowel surgery.

Sevalac 800mg tablet is not recommended for children under six years old due to insufficient safety and efficacy data in this age group.

If your doctor has advised you about sugar intolerance, consult your doctor before taking this medication, as it contains lactose.
