Product Introduction
Sevapik 400mg tablet contains the active ingredient Sevelamer, a phosphate binder. It is used to manage hyperphosphatemia (high blood phosphate levels) in adult patients undergoing dialysis (hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis) and patients with chronic kidney disease who have elevated serum phosphorus levels. It should be used alongside other treatments, such as calcium supplements and vitamin D, to help prevent bone disease. Elevated blood phosphorus levels can lead to calcification, in which hard deposits form and stiffen blood vessels, which may affect blood flow.
Do not take Sevapik 400mg tablet if you are allergic to Sevelamer or any ingredients in the medication. Avoid this medicine if you have low phosphate levels or bowel obstruction.
Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding. Notify your doctor if you have difficulty swallowing or if your stomach and bowel have problems moving food. Also inform your doctor if you currently have bowel inflammation or have undergone major stomach or bowel surgery.
Sevapik 400mg tablet is not recommended for children under six years of age due to insufficient safety and efficacy data in this age group. If your doctor has advised you about a sugar intolerance, consult your doctor before taking this medication, as it contains lactose.
