Product Introduction
Sevasor 400 Tablet contains Sevelamer as its active ingredient. It belongs to the class of medicines known as phosphate binders and is used to treat hyperphosphatemia (high blood phosphate levels) in adults undergoing hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis, as well as in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) who have elevated serum phosphorus levels. It is often prescribed along with calcium supplements and vitamin D to help reduce the risk of bone disease. Controlling phosphate levels also helps prevent the buildup of calcium deposits in blood vessels, which can impair normal blood circulation.
Do not take Sevasor 400 Tablet if you are allergic to sevelamer or any of its ingredients. This medicine should also be avoided if you have low blood phosphate levels or a bowel obstruction. Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, think you may be pregnant, or are breastfeeding. Also, let your healthcare provider know if you have difficulty swallowing, digestive disorders that affect food movement through the stomach or intestines, bowel inflammation, or a history of major stomach or intestinal surgery. Sevasor 400 Tablet is not recommended for children below six years of age because its safety and effectiveness have not been established in this age group. Since this medicine contains lactose, patients with known sugar intolerance should consult their doctor before using it.
