Product Introduction

Sevasor 800 Tablet contains the active ingredient Sevelamer, a phosphate binder. It is indicated for the management of hyperphosphatemia (elevated blood phosphate levels) in adult patients receiving dialysis (haemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis) and in patients with chronic kidney disease presenting with elevated serum phosphorus. It should be used alongside other therapies, including calcium supplements and vitamin D, to help prevent bone disease. Elevated blood phosphorus can lead to calcification, in which hard deposits accumulate and stiffen blood vessels, thereby compromising blood flow.

Do not use Sevasor 800 Tablet if you are allergic to Sevelamer 400 mg or any other ingredient in the formulation. Avoid use if you have low phosphate levels or bowel obstruction.

Inform your doctor before commencing treatment if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding. Notify your doctor if you have difficulty swallowing or if your gastrointestinal tract has impaired motility. Also disclose if you have active bowel inflammation or a history of major abdominal or bowel surgery.

Sevasor 800 Tablet is not recommended in children under six years of age, as safety and efficacy data in this age group are limited.

If your doctor has advised you of a sugar intolerance, consult your doctor before taking this medication, as it contains lactose.
