Product Introduction

Sevecord 400 mg tablet contains the active ingredient Sevelamer, a phosphate binder used to manage hyperphosphatemia in adult patients on dialysis (haemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis) and patients with chronic kidney disease presenting with elevated serum phosphorus levels. Treatment should be combined with calcium supplements and vitamin D to prevent bone disease. High blood phosphorus can cause calcification, where hard deposits form and stiffen blood vessels, compromising blood flow.

Do not take Sevecord 400 mg tablet if you are allergic to Sevelamer or any ingredient in the formulation. Avoid this medicine if you have low phosphate levels or bowel obstruction.

Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding. Notify your doctor if you have difficulty swallowing or if your stomach and bowel have problems moving food. Inform your doctor if you currently have bowel inflammation or have undergone major stomach or bowel surgery.

Sevecord 400 mg tablets are not recommended for children under six years of age due to insufficient safety and efficacy data in this age group. If your doctor has advised you about sugar intolerance, consult your doctor before taking this medication, as it contains lactose.
