Product Introduction

Sevlaren 400mg Tablet 15's contains sevelamer, a phosphate binder. It is indicated for management of hyperphosphatemia in adult patients undergoing dialysis (haemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis) and patients with chronic kidney disease presenting with elevated serum phosphorus levels. Use should be combined with other treatments, including calcium supplements and vitamin D, to prevent bone disease. Elevated blood phosphorus levels can lead to calcification, in which hard deposits accumulate and stiffen blood vessels, compromising blood flow.

Do not use Sevlaren 400mg Tablet 15's if you have a known allergy to sevelamer or any ingredient in the formulation. Avoid this medicine if you have hypophosphatemia (low phosphate levels) or bowel obstruction.

Before treatment, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding. Notify your doctor if you have swallowing difficulties or impaired gastric and bowel motility. Disclose any history of bowel inflammation or major abdominal or bowel surgery. Also inform your doctor if you have been advised of sugar intolerance, as this medication contains lactose.

Sevlaren 400mg Tablet 15's is not recommended for children under six years of age due to insufficient safety and efficacy data in this age group.
