Product Introduction
Shelcal M tablet contains calcium, vitamin D3, manganese, zinc, copper, and boron. These are mineral and vitamin supplements used to prevent calcium and vitamin D deficiencies and as adjunctive therapy in osteoporosis. Vitamin D3 increases the absorption of calcium in the intestine. Shelcal M tablet maintains normal levels of calcium and phosphate in the serum and treats patients with vitamin D deficiency or related disorders. It aids in bone formation, cell function, muscle contraction, and nervous system function. The medication is used with caution in elderly individuals.
Shelcal M tablet should be taken after meals for better intestinal absorption. Common side effects include gastrointestinal problems, stomach pain, constipation, and diarrhoea. Symptoms prolonging for extended periods should be reported to the doctor.
Before taking this medication, inform the doctor if the patient is planning for pregnancy or breastfeeding, or has a history of allergies, kidney problems, or hyperparathyroidism. Shelcal M tablet is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disorders. Patients should inform the doctor about other medications taken for different conditions.
