Product Introduction
Sicriptin 2.5mg Tablet contains Bromocriptine as its active ingredient. It belongs to the class of medicines known as dopamine agonists, which work by stimulating dopamine receptors in the brain. This medicine is mainly prescribed for the treatment of hyperprolactinemia, a condition characterized by elevated prolactin levels that can lead to infertility, irregular menstrual cycles, and abnormal milk production in women. It is also used as an adjunct treatment for Parkinson’s disease to improve motor symptoms, for the management of acromegaly caused by excessive growth hormone production, and in certain emergency situations to treat neuroleptic malignant syndrome. In some cases, bromocriptine may also be used off-label to support blood sugar control in patients with type 2 diabetes.
Do not take Sicriptin 2.5mg Tablet if you are allergic to bromocriptine or any of its ingredients. This medicine is contraindicated in patients with uncontrolled high blood pressure, postpartum hypertension, or a history of toxemia during pregnancy. It should be used with caution in individuals with cardiovascular disorders such as angina, previous heart attack, or peripheral vascular disease, as it may affect blood pressure. Since bromocriptine can act on the central nervous system, patients with a history of psychiatric disorders should use this medication only under close medical supervision. Inform your doctor about your complete medical history before starting Sicriptin 2.5mg Tablet.

How it works
Sicriptin 2.5mg tablet exerts its therapeutic effect as a dopamine agonist, activating dopamine receptors in the brain. This results in regulating dopamine levels and leads to various beneficial outcomes. This medication lowers prolactin levels in hyperprolactinemia, alleviating associated symptoms like irregular menstrual periods and infertility. For Parkinson's disease, it improves motor symptoms by compensating for dopamine deficiency. In acromegaly, it reduces growth hormone levels, mitigating abnormal tissue growth. It can also manage neuroleptic malignant syndrome emergencies. While occasionally used off-label, it may help improve glycemic control in patients with type 2 diabetes. These diverse therapeutic effects make this medication valuable in treating various medical conditions related to dopamine imbalance.
