Product Introduction

Sitanat M 50/500mg Tablet contains Sitagliptin and Metformin as active components. It is used in the management of type 2 diabetes and helps regulate blood sugar levels by targeting multiple aspects of glucose regulation. Unlike some other diabetes medications, it is not associated with significant weight gain and may be associated with modest weight loss in some individuals. This can benefit patients with type 2 diabetes who are overweight or obese. It is less likely to cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar levels), particularly when used as directed. This can be beneficial for individuals at risk of experiencing hypoglycemic episodes. Some studies suggest that use of this medication may have cardiovascular benefits, including reducing the risk of cardiovascular events such as heart attacks or strokes in patients with type 2 diabetes.

Sitanat M 50/500mg Tablet should be avoided in individuals with a known allergy or hypersensitivity to Sitagliptin, Metformin, or any other components of this medication. It should not be used in individuals with severe renal impairment (eGFR less than 30 mL/min/1.73 m²) or end-stage renal disease, as use in such cases can increase the risk of developing lactic acidosis, a serious metabolic complication. Individuals with a history of metabolic acidosis, including diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), should not use this medication. Use is not recommended in individuals with a history of heart failure, as certain studies have suggested an increased risk of cardiovascular events with this medication. Dose adjustment may be necessary in older adults, as age-related changes in kidney and liver function may affect dosage requirements. It is not recommended for use in children, as its safety and efficacy in paediatric populations have not been established.

How it works

Sitanat M 50/500mg Tablet works by combining its two active ingredients, which act synergistically.
