Product Introduction

Solicept 5mg Tablet is a urinary antispasmodic containing Solifenacin Succinate, a muscarinic receptor antagonist. It is used to treat symptoms of overactive bladder (OAB), a condition characterised by sudden, frequent, and uncontrollable urge to urinate, often accompanied by urinary frequency and urgency. Patients with OAB may experience these symptoms even when the bladder is not full, resulting in a sense of urgency that can be difficult to manage.

Solicept 5mg Tablet is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity or allergy to Solifenacin Succinate or any component of the formulation. The drug may worsen urinary retention (inability to empty the bladder). Use with caution in these patients, and discontinuation should be considered if urinary retention occurs. Inform your physician of any kidney or liver disease, as your physician may prescribe a low dose and perform regular blood tests.

Use of Solicept 5mg Tablet during pregnancy is generally not recommended unless necessary. This tablet should not be used during breastfeeding, as Solifenacin Succinate may pass into breast milk and affect the child.

This tablet contains lactose. Patients with rare hereditary problems of galactose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption, or Lapp lactase deficiency should not use this medication.

Uses

Treat the symptoms of overactive bladder (OAB)

How it works

Solicept 5mg Tablet works by blocking the action of a specific type of receptor called muscarinic receptor in the bladder. By blocking these receptors, this drug helps to relax the bladder muscles, reduce bladder contractions, and increase the bladder's capacity to hold urine.

How to Use

Take the Solicept 5mg Tablet as advised by your physician. Do not crush, chew, or open the medicine. Your physician will decide the correct dosage and duration based on age, body weight, and disease condition. Only stop taking the tablet if your doctor advises you to stop.
