Product Introduction

Somatorel 5mg Injection is a recombinant human growth hormone (hGH) containing the active ingredient somatropin. It is indicated for growth failure in children with growth hormone deficiency, Turner's syndrome (a chromosomal disorder in girls affecting growth), chronic renal insufficiency affecting growth, Prader-Willi syndrome (a chromosomal disorder), and growth failure in children unable to grow normally by four years of age. Inform your doctor if you are allergic to somatropin, sodium, or any ingredients in this medicine. Exercise caution if you have severe acute illness, Prader-Willi syndrome, severe obesity, upper airway obstruction, sleep apnoea, cancer, diabetes mellitus, hypothyroidism, hypoadrenalism, scoliosis, or pancreatitis. During treatment with Somatorel 5mg Injection, your healthcare provider may monitor blood count, blood glucose, thyroid function, and other vital parameters to prevent serious complications. Inform your doctor if you are planning pregnancy, suspect you may be pregnant, or are breastfeeding.

Uses

Growth failure due to growth hormone deficiency Children with retarded growth

How it works

Somatorel 5mg Injection is equivalent to the human pituitary hormone that helps in growth. It regulates the amount of insulin-like growth factor I (IGF-I) and improves linear growth in patients with growth hormone deficiency.

How to Use

It will be given to you by a doctor or nurse in a hospital or clinical setting. It is given as a subcutaneous (under the skin). Do not self-administer the injection. Your doctor will decide the dose and duration of the treatment based on your disease severity, body weight, and other factors.

Side Effects

Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all drugs cause side effects, not everyone gets them. Serious Critical illnesses Intracranial hypertension (strong headache, visual disturbances or vomiting) Severe abdominal pain High blood glucose level Common Joint pain Injection site reaction (redness, itchiness, or pain) Numbness Swelling (puffy fingers or swollen ankles) Rash Itching Bumps on the skin (itchy) Pain or burning in the hand/ underarms Stiffness

Expert Tips

It is recommended to get enough rest if you have joint pain, stiffness, or headache. Placing a cool compression over the injection site can give some relief at that place. It is advised to move the limb, which will help prevent joint stiffness in individuals. Inform your doctor if you're going to take a lab test; it may interfere with the result and affect the accuracy of the results you obtain.
