Tabi Tablet

Tabi Tablet contains the active ingredient Bicalutamide and is prescribed for the treatment of advanced prostate cancer. It is classified as a non-steroidal anti-androgen. This medication is typically administered alongside a Luteinizing Hormone-Releasing Hormone (LHRH) analog or following surgical removal of the testicles. Tabi Tablet works by controlling prostate cancer through reduction of androgen (male hormone) effects that promote cancer cell growth. Tabi Tablet should be taken at the same time each day, with or without food. Dosage is determined by the patient's condition and the doctor's prescription. Overdosage should be avoided as it may cause serious health complications. Patients should continue taking the medicine as prescribed even if symptoms improve. Tabi Tablet side effects may include blood in urine or severe allergic reactions; any unusual symptoms should be reported to the doctor immediately. This medicine forms part of androgen deprivation therapy (ADT), commonly used in high-risk patients as a component of combination treatment involving radiation, surgery, and hormonal therapy. ADT reduces testosterone levels significantly, as prostate cancer cells depend on testosterone for growth and metastasis. By lowering testosterone, treatment helps slow cancer progression and improve survival outcomes. While Tabi Tablet is primarily indicated for prostate cancer, off-label discussion has occurred regarding its use for hair growth; however, this remains outside its primary indication and should be pursued only under strict medical supervision.

Tabi Tablet binds to the cytosol androgen receptors and blocks the effect of the androgen hormone. It interrupts the interaction of androgen receptors to hormones testosterone and dihydrotestosterone. This, in turn, blocks the growth of cancer cells in the prostate gland.

Consume the tablet at the same time each day, with or without food.

Avoid driving or operating heavy machinery after taking this medication, as it may cause dizziness and reduce alertness. Regular monitoring of blood count, blood pressure, liver function, kidney function, and blood glucose levels is necessary during treatment.
