Product Introduction

Takfa Forte 0.1% Lotion 20ml contains Tacrolimus, a calcineurin inhibitor that acts as an immunosuppressant. When used as a topical lotion, it is primarily prescribed to treat moderate to severe atopic dermatitis (eczema) in patients who have not responded adequately to conventional therapies or cannot tolerate them. It works by reducing the overactive immune response in the skin, helping relieve itching, redness, inflammation, and irritation while improving skin healing.

Do not use Takfa Forte 0.1% Lotion if you are allergic to Tacrolimus or any of its ingredients. Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you have liver disease, skin infections, weakened immunity, or a history of skin cancer. Avoid applying the lotion to infected, broken, or cancerous skin unless directed by your healthcare provider. During treatment, limit exposure to sunlight and UV rays by wearing protective clothing and using sunscreen, as Tacrolimus may increase skin sensitivity and the risk of skin changes. Inform your doctor if you develop persistent fever, swollen lymph nodes, severe skin irritation, or signs of infection, and consult your healthcare provider before receiving any vaccinations while using this medicine.

Uses

Prevent organ transplant rejections.

How it works

Takfa Forte 0.1% Lotion 20ml provides immunosuppression by inhibiting T-lymphocyte activation and proliferation and T-helper-cell-dependent B-cell response. It works by attaching to a protein called FKBP-12 and forms a complex called tacrolimus-FKBP, which inhibits the action of calcineurin phosphatase. This, in turn, inhibits the formation of T cells and suppresses the immune response.
