Product Introduction
Targocid 400mg Injection contains Teicoplanin, a glycopeptide antibiotic used in adults and children to treat serious bacterial infections of soft tissues, lungs, urinary tract, abdominal wall, blood, bones, joints, and heart (endocarditis). The medication works by inhibiting bacterial growth, enabling the body to clear the infection. The 400 mg formulation comprises Teicoplanin as the active component with sterile excipients for intravenous or intramuscular administration. Targocid 400 mg injection is commonly prescribed for pneumonia when caused by Gram-positive bacteria resistant to other antibiotics, particularly in hospital settings for severe respiratory tract infections. Dosage is determined by your doctor based on age, weight, kidney function, and infection severity. Administration occurs intravenously under medical supervision, typically in hospital environments. Avoid Targocid if allergic to Teicoplanin or related antibiotics such as vancomycin. Inform your doctor of kidney or liver problems, low platelet count, or skin reactions including flushing or rashes.

How it works
The cell wall of gram-positive bacteria is entirely made of peptidoglycan, which is necessary for cell wall synthesis. Targocid 400mg Injection interferes with the cell-wall biosynthesis of bacteria by binding to specific residues and inhibiting the polymer membrane. It works by killing the bacteria which can cause serious infections.
