Tavin L Tablet

Tavin L tablet contains Lamivudine and Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate, antiretroviral agents used to treat HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) infection. These active substances belong to the nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI) class and work by inhibiting HIV reverse transcriptase, an enzyme essential for viral replication.

This medicine has not been studied in patients over 65 years of age. Antiretroviral therapy, while effective in reducing transmission risk, does not eliminate the possibility of HIV transmission. Patients with HIV may still develop HIV-related infections during treatment.

Tavin L tablet is not indicated for use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age.

Do not use this tablet if you have allergic reactions to Lamivudine, Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate, peanuts, or soya (this medicine contains lecithin), or any other ingredient.

Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you have bone disease (osteonecrosis), fractures, or a history of liver disease (chronic hepatitis B or C) or kidney problems. During treatment, your doctor may periodically monitor blood counts, bone mineral density, and liver and kidney function to prevent serious complications. Dose adjustment may be necessary if you have kidney disease. Tavin L tablet should not be given to adolescents with existing kidney problems. Do not reduce your dosage except on your doctor's advice.

Inform your doctor if you are planning to become pregnant or believe you may be pregnant. Breastfeeding is not recommended due to the risk of HIV transmission from mother to infant. Use effective contraception consistently. Consult your doctor regarding any fertility concerns.

Treatment of HIV infection

Lamivudine and Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate inhibit the enzyme reverse transcriptase; inhibition of these enzymes blocks the reproduction of the virus and prevents the release of viral particles in the body to treat the HIV infection.

Tavin L tablet are always taken at the dose recommended by your doctor or health care provider. Your physician will choose the dosage and administration frequency based on the medical condition because it differs for each person. Do not crush, chew or break the tablet.

Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all drugs cause side effects, not everyone gets them. Inform your doctor about your underlying infections. If you have advanced HIV (AIDS), you may develop signs of infection and inflammation or worsen the signs of an existing infection once treatment is started. Report your doctor for side effects. It is mandatory to tell your medical professional if you are consuming other medicines that may damage your kidneys. Always consume the dose recommended by your doctor. Tavin L tablet does not reduce the risk of transmitting HIV to others via sexual contact or blood contamination. You must continue the medication to avoid this complication. Most patients experience asymptomatic increases in hyperbilirubinemia (increase in bilirubin).
