Product Introduction

Taxim 1gm Injection contains cefotaxime, a broad-spectrum antibiotic belonging to the third-generation cephalosporin class. It treats various bacterial infections by inhibiting bacterial growth and reproduction, enabling the immune system to eliminate infection. The medication is effective against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, covering pathogens responsible for respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and intra-abdominal infections. Its ability to penetrate the blood-brain barrier makes it effective for central nervous system infections. Taxim 1gm Injection is generally well-tolerated, with side effects typically mild and transient; serious adverse reactions are rare. The medication should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity or severe allergic reactions to cephalosporin antibiotics or any components of the formulation. It should be used cautiously or avoided in patients with a history of gastrointestinal disorders, particularly colitis or pseudomembranous colitis, as it may worsen these conditions or lead to antibiotic-associated diarrhoea. Primary renal excretion means patients with severe renal impairment may require dosage adjustments. Use should be cautious in neonates with jaundice. Taxim 1gm Injection should not be mixed or administered simultaneously with calcium-containing solutions or products, such as lactated Ringer's or parenteral nutrition containing calcium, as these can cause precipitation and inactivation of the medication.
