Product Introduction
Taxim O CV dry syrup contains two active ingredients: Cefixime and Clavulanic acid. It belongs to the group of medications called antibiotics. It is indicated to treat bacterial infections of the nose, ear, throat, chest, lungs, urinary tract, and uncomplicated gonorrhea. A bacterial infection is the growth of numerous harmful strains of bacteria in the body. It can affect any part of the body. The common side effects that may be associated with Taxim O CV dry syrup are nausea, stomach pain, diarrhea, indigestion, headache, dizziness, and flatulence (accumulation of gas in the digestive system). Report to your doctor if any of these side effects disturb or persist. If you have allergic reactions to Cefixime or other antibiotics, report to your physician immediately. Inform your doctor before commencing treatment with this medication if you have kidney or liver disease. This medicine should not be given to children below ten years of age. It is not recommended for pregnant and breastfeeding women.
Uses
Treatment of bacterial infection.
How it works
Cefixime acts by blocking the synthesis of bacteria cell walls, which is essential for survival. It kills susceptible bacteria and stops the spread of diseases. Potassium clavulanate is a beta-lactamase inhibitor (enzyme) that is produced by some bacteria that can inactivate and destroy certain antibiotics, including cephalosporins. Combining cefixime with inhibits the activity of beta-lactamase enzymes produced by bacteria, preventing them from breaking down cefixime. This allows Taxim O CV dry syrup to remain active and exert its antimicrobial effect against susceptible bacteria.
