Product Introduction
Tbis 0.1% Ointment contains tacrolimus, an immunosuppressant medication belonging to the calcineurin inhibitor class. It is used to treat moderate to severe atopic dermatitis (eczema) in adults who cannot use alternative medications or whose eczema has not responded to other treatments. The medication suppresses immune system production of substances that may contribute to eczema development.
Do not use Tbis 0.1% Ointment if you are allergic to tacrolimus or any other ingredient in this medicine. Inform your doctor if you are allergic to any antibiotic group. Advise your doctor if you have or have had liver failure, skin problems, skin cancer, or a weakened immune system.
Contact your physician immediately if you develop fever, bruising under the skin (appearing as red dots), unexplained tiredness, confusion, yellowing of the skin or eyes, reduced urine output, vision loss, or seizures after using this medicine.
Limit sun and UV light exposure while using Tbis 0.1% Ointment by wearing protective clothing and applying sunscreen with a high sun protection factor, due to the potential risk of malignant skin changes with immunosuppressive therapy.
Do not apply this ointment to infected areas if you have infected lesions. If you notice any change in the appearance of your skin, contact your physician immediately.
This medicine is not approved for children younger than 16 years of age.
Uses
Moderate to severe atopic dermatitis (eczema)
How it works
Tbis 0.1% Ointment provides immunosuppression by inhibiting T-lymphocyte activation and proliferation and T-helper-cell-dependent B-cell response. It works by attaching to a protein called FKBP-12 and forms a complex called tacrolimus-FKBP, which inhibits the action of calcineurin phosphatase. This, in turn, inhibits the formation of T cells and suppresses the immune response.
How to Use
This medicine is only for topical use. Always use Tbis 0.1% Ointment exactly as advised by your doctor. Apply the ointment as a thin layer to the affected areas of your skin. If you accidentally swallowed the ointment, contact your physician immediately and seek medical advice.
