Tecentriq 1200mg Injection

Categories: Oncology

Conditions: Anti Cancer

Product Introduction

Tecentriq 1200mg injection is an anticancer medication containing the active ingredient Atezolizumab, which belongs to the class of monoclonal antibodies (Mab). It is indicated for treatment of cancers of the bladder, lungs, liver, and breast. A monoclonal antibody is a type of protein that attaches to a specific target in the body. This antibody works by helping the immune system to fight against cancer. The medicine is used as adjuvant therapy (treatment following surgery) for lung cancer in patients where cancer has not spread to other body parts. It may be used alone or in combination with other anticancer medicines. Do not take Tecentriq 1200mg injection if you are allergic to Atezolizumab or any other ingredient in the medicine. This medicine is not recommended for children and adolescents. Notify your healthcare professional if you experience symptoms such as inflammation of the lung, liver, intestine, thyroid, adrenal glands, or pituitary gland; your doctor may prescribe other medications to prevent complications and reduce symptoms. Before beginning Tecentriq 1200mg treatment, inform your doctor if you have or have ever had an autoimmune disease (where the body attacks its own cells), HIV infection or AIDS, prior pneumonitis (inflammation of the lung), infections such as HIV/AIDS, or chronic viral infection of the liver (hepatitis B or hepatitis C). Also notify your doctor if you have received any live attenuated vaccine, antibiotic within the past two weeks, or any medicine to improve or suppress your immune system. Report to your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. Use effective birth control during treatment and for five months after treatment.

Uses

How it works

Tecentriq 1200mg is a monoclonal antibody that blocks the interaction between PD-L1 and PD-1, which can help the T-cells recognize and attack cancer cells more effectively. By doing so, Tecentriq 1200mg can stimulate the immune system to attack cancer cells and potentially slow down or stop cancer growth.

How to Use

A trained doctor or nurse should only administer it. Do not self-administer the injection. Your doctor will decide the dose and duration of your treatment based on the disease severity and other factors. It will be given as an intravenous infusion, and you will be monitored carefully for unwanted side effects. The first infusion will take around 60 minutes and must be monitored carefully. If there is no infusion reaction for the first dose, the next infusion will last 30 minutes.
