Product Introduction

Tecum 0.1% Ointment 10gm contains the active substance Tacrolimus, which belongs to a group of medicines known as calcineurin inhibitors. It works by suppressing specific immune responses in the body. Because of this action, Tecum ointment is used to help prevent organ transplant rejection in patients who have received a kidney, liver, heart, or other organ transplant. By controlling immune activity, it supports the body in accepting the transplanted organ and reducing the risk of immune-related damage. In dermatology practice, Tecum ointment is commonly prescribed to manage inflammatory skin conditions where the immune system plays a role. By calming immune overactivity in the skin, it helps reduce redness, itching, and flare-ups, especially in sensitive areas where steroid creams may not be suitable. Many patients experience better long-term control of symptoms with reduced skin thinning compared to prolonged steroid use.

How it works

Tecum 0.1 Ointment 10gm provides immunosuppression by inhibiting T-lymphocyte activation and proliferation and T-helper-cell-dependent B-cell response. It works by attaching to a protein called FKBP-12 and forms a complex called tacrolimus-FKBP, which inhibits the action of calcineurin phosphatase. This, in turn, inhibits the formation of T cells and suppresses the immune response.
