Conditions: Hypertension

Product Introduction

Telma tablet is an antihypertensive agent containing Telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor antagonist. Angiotensin II is a naturally occurring substance that constricts blood vessels and elevates blood pressure. This medicine treats high blood pressure (essential hypertension) in adults, specifically for hypertension not caused by an underlying condition. It works by blocking the effects of angiotensin II, allowing blood vessels to relax and reducing blood pressure. It is also used to reduce the risk of cardiovascular events (stroke, heart attack, or heart failure) in adults.

Do not use Telma tablets if you are allergic to Telmisartan or any other ingredients. Do not use if you have severe liver conditions (cholestasis or biliary obstruction), diabetes, or impaired kidney function that has been treated with a pressure-lowering medicine containing aliskiren. Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you have liver, kidney, or heart conditions.

Inform your doctor if you have renal artery stenosis (narrowing of one or both renal arteries), kidney transplant, elevated aldosterone levels (affecting water and salt regulation), hypotension (low blood pressure), raised potassium levels, or diabetes.

Telma tablet is not recommended during early pregnancy and should not be taken beyond the first three months. Patients aged 18 years and younger are not recommended for this medicine. Notify your doctor if you have lactose intolerance, as this tablet contains lactose.
