Product Introduction
Telma ACT 40mg/5mg/6.25mg Tablet is an antihypertensive medication containing three active components: Telmisartan, Amlodipine, and Chlorthalidone. This combination formulation is used to manage blood pressure when monotherapy proves inadequate. It is indicated for the treatment of hypertension, a condition in which elevated blood pressure exerts force on artery walls, potentially leading to heart disease, cardiac arrhythmias, and associated complications.
Inform your physician of any hypersensitivity to the ingredients in this medication before commencing treatment. Medical conditions requiring disclosure include heart disease, kidney dysfunction, liver disease, diabetes mellitus, angioedema, anuria (severely reduced urine output due to kidney failure), electrolyte imbalance, and dehydration. Avoid concurrent use of potassium supplements as this may result in hyperkalemia (elevated serum potassium). Do not discontinue this medication without medical consultation, as abrupt withdrawal may worsen the condition or precipitate symptom recurrence.
Commonly reported side effects include headache, dizziness, somnolence, peripheral oedema, fatigue, bradycardia, gastrointestinal disturbance, electrolyte imbalance, hyperglycaemia, postural hypotension, angioedema, urticaria, visual disturbance, dyspnoea, and muscle cramps. Notify your healthcare provider if these effects are bothersome or persistent.
Uses

How it works
Telmisartan works by preventing the action of certain substances that tighten blood vessels. It improves blood flow and increases the heart's ability to pump blood effectively throughout the body. Amlodipine acts by relaxing and enlarging the blood vessels. Chlorthalidone acts by removing excess water and some electrolytes through the urine, and also it improves blood flow by relaxing blood vessels. Hence, Telma Act 40mg/5mg/6.25mg Tablet lowers high blood pressure and the risk of heart attacks and strokes.
