Product Introduction

Telma AM H 80mg tablet is an antihypertensive medication containing a combination of telmisartan, hydrochlorothiazide, and amlodipine. This combination is used to control blood pressure when monotherapy proves ineffective. The tablet is indicated primarily for the treatment of hypertension, a condition in which blood exerts excessive force on artery walls, potentially leading to heart disease, irregular heartbeat, and other cardiovascular complications.

Common side effects include sleepiness, ankle swelling, nausea, headache, flushing, dizziness, fatigue, palpitations, stomach upset, peripheral oedema, and mood changes. Notify your doctor immediately if you experience any persistent or troubling side effects.

Before taking this medication, inform your physician if you have hypersensitivity or allergic reactions to any of its ingredients. Report to your doctor immediately if you have anuria (kidney failure causing reduced urine production) or diabetes.

This tablet is not recommended for patients with hypotension (low blood pressure), liver disease, kidney disease, heart failure, electrolyte imbalances, or metabolic disorders. The medication is not intended for use during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, as it reduces fetal renal function and causes harmful effects on the developing fetus.

Uses

How it works

Telmisartan works by preventing the action of certain substances that tighten blood vessels. It improves blood flow and increases the heart's ability to pump blood effectively throughout the body. Amlodipine acts by relaxing and enlarging the blood vessels. The function of hydrochlorothiazide is to eliminate excess water and electrolytes from the body through urine. Hence, Telma AM H 80mg tablet lowers high blood pressure and lowers the risk of heart attacks and strokes.
