Product Introduction

Telma AZ 80mg tablet is a combination medicine containing two active ingredients: Telmisartan and Azelnidipine, indicated for stage-2 hypertension. Telmisartan is an antihypertensive agent belonging to the angiotensin II receptor antagonist class. Angiotensin II is a naturally occurring substance that causes blood vessel constriction and increases blood pressure. This medicine works by blocking the effects of angiotensin II, allowing blood vessels to relax and reducing blood pressure. Azelnidipine, a calcium channel blocker, also relaxes blood vessels, lowering pressure and improving blood flow.

Do not take Telma AZ 80mg tablet if you are allergic to Telmisartan, Azelnidipine, or any other ingredients. Avoid this medicine if you have severe liver conditions (biliary obstruction) or if used alongside aliskiren-containing products in patients with diabetes mellitus or renal impairment. Before beginning treatment, inform your doctor of any liver, kidney, or heart conditions. Azelnidipine is contraindicated in women who may become pregnant or are already pregnant, and must not be combined with certain medications such as azole antifungals and HIV protease inhibitors. Avoid sudden cessation of calcium antagonists.

Your physician will monitor for excessive blood pressure reduction, hepatic function abnormalities, and jaundice, adjusting the dose as needed. Your doctor may discontinue Telma AZ 80mg tablet if abnormalities develop. Inform your doctor if you have a history of myocardial infarction, arrhythmia, or heart failure before starting treatment. Avoid consuming grapefruit juice while taking this medication.
