Product Introduction
Telma CT 40mg/12.5mg Tablet is a combination medicine containing Telmisartan and Chlorthalidone, used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that relaxes blood vessels, while Chlorthalidone is a thiazide-like diuretic (water pill) that helps remove excess salt and water from the body through urine. Together, they effectively lower blood pressure, reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke, and may help protect kidney function, particularly in people with hypertension and chronic kidney disease.
Do not take Telma CT 40mg/12.5mg Tablet if you are allergic to Telmisartan, Chlorthalidone, or any of its ingredients. Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you have kidney disease, liver disease, diabetes, gout, dehydration, or electrolyte imbalances such as low potassium or sodium levels. Patients with severe kidney impairment or end-stage renal disease may require alternative treatment or dose adjustments. Regular monitoring of blood pressure, kidney function, and electrolyte levels is recommended during therapy. This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy, especially after the first trimester, and breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before using it.

Hypertension Cardiovascular Protection Chronic Kidney Disease Diabetic Nephropathy (kidney condition caused by long-standing diabetes)
How it works
The therapeutic effect of Telma CT 40mg/12.5mg Tablet tablets, a combination medication containing telmisartan and chlorthalidone, is the reduction of high blood pressure (hypertension) through dual mechanisms. Telmisartan works by blocking the action of angiotensin II, a hormone that constricts blood vessels, thereby promoting vasodilation and relaxation of the blood vessels. Chlorthalidone, a diuretic, increases urine production, resulting in the removal of excess salt and water from the body, leading to decreased fluid volume in the blood vessels. Combining these two agents helps in lowering blood pressure, helping to protect against cardiovascular diseases, and potentially providing kidney protection in certain cases.
How to Use
To use Telma CT 40mg/12.5mg Tablet tablets, follow your doctor's instructions precisely. Take the tablets orally with a glass of water, either with or without food. It is important to take the medication simultaneously daily to maintain a consistent routine. Do not adjust the dosage or stop taking the medication without consulting your healthcare professional.
