Product Introduction

Telma D tablet is an antihypertensive medication containing a combination of telmisartan and indapamide. This dual-agent formulation is used to control blood pressure when monotherapy is insufficient. It is indicated primarily for the treatment of hypertension, a condition in which elevated blood pressure exerts increased force on artery walls, potentially leading to heart disease, arrhythmia, and related complications.

Common side effects include nausea, diarrhoea, headache, dizziness, weakness, stomach pain, constipation, infection, nasal inflammation, chest pain, back pain, indigestion, nervousness, peripheral oedema, sore throat, and cough. Inform your healthcare provider if any of these side effects occur or persist.

Before initiating treatment with Telma D tablet, inform your physician of any known allergic reaction to telmisartan, indapamide, or any of its components. Disclose to your physician if you have kidney disease, severe liver disease, cardiac arrhythmias, vision problems or eye pain, muscle disorders, or hypokalaemia. Regular monitoring of blood pressure and electrolytes (particularly potassium) is recommended during treatment.

Telma D tablet is not recommended for pregnant women or those who are breastfeeding.

Uses

Treats hypertension (high blood pressure).

How it works

Telmisartan works by preventing the action of certain substances that tighten blood vessels (arteries). It improves blood flow and increases the heart's ability to pump blood effectively throughout the body. Indapamide eliminates excess water and electrolytes from the body. Furthermore, it relaxes blood vessels and improves blood flow. They reduce blood pressure and minimize the risk of heart attack, stroke, and edema (fluid retention).

How to Use

Take the Telma D tablet as your physician advises. Usually, the tablets will be taken with or without food. Do not crush, chew, or open the medicine. Your physician will decide the correct dosage and duration based on age, body weight, and disease condition. Only stop taking the tablet if your doctor advises you to stop.
