Product Introduction
Themitaz 4.5gm injection contains two active ingredients: Piperacillin and Tazobactam. These belong to broad-spectrum penicillin antibiotics and beta-lactamase inhibitor groups. Piperacillin combined with Tazobactam works to eliminate many types of harmful bacteria in the body. When given together, Tazobactam enhances Piperacillin's effectiveness against certain resistant bacterial strains. This medicine treats bacterial infections of the lower respiratory tract, urinary tract, abdomen, skin, and blood in adults and adolescents. Themitaz 4.5gm injection also treats bacterial infections in children aged 2–12 years, particularly abdominal infections such as appendicitis, peritonitis, and gallbladder infections. It is additionally used in patients with low white blood cell counts and those with weakened immune systems. In serious infections, doctors may administer it alongside other antibiotics for enhanced efficacy. Themitaz 4.5gm injection should not be used in children under 2 years of age due to insufficient safety and efficacy data in this age group. Do not use this injection if you are allergic to Piperacillin, Tazobactam, penicillins, cephalosporins, other beta-lactamase inhibitors, or any ingredients in the formulation. Before treatment, inform your doctor if you have low potassium levels, liver or kidney issues, or require hemodialysis monitoring. Your doctor may conduct regular blood tests during treatment. If you are taking anticoagulants or experience unexpected bleeding, notify your healthcare professional immediately. Report any convulsions or suspected new or worsening infections during treatment. Be aware of haemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis, a condition involving excessive white blood cell production; contact your doctor immediately if you develop fever, swollen glands, weakness, lightheadedness, shortness of breath, bruising, or skin rash. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding.
Uses

How it works
Piperacillin acts as an antibiotic by stopping the formation of the protective covering in bacteria, which is essential for survival. Tazobactam is a beta-lactamase inhibitor, which helps reduce bacterial resistance and boosts the effectiveness of Piperacillin against bacteria.
