Product Introduction

Thyronorm 37.5mcg Tablet contains levothyroxine, a synthetic form of the hormone naturally produced by the thyroid gland. The active ingredient is thyroxine sodium. It is used to treat hypothyroidism, a chronic condition in which the thyroid gland fails to produce adequate thyroid hormone. The thyroid gland releases hormones such as tri-iodothyronine (T3) and thyroxine (T4), which help regulate the body's use of energy. The thyroid regulates heart and digestive system functioning; without the proper amount of these hormones, the body cannot function effectively.

Common side effects associated with Thyronorm 37.5mcg Tablet include diarrhoea, vomiting, weight loss, heat intolerance, headache, nervousness, irregular periods, sweating, muscle weakness or cramps, and tremors. Report to your healthcare provider immediately if you experience swelling of the face, lips, or tongue, thyroid crisis (severe reaction to high levels of thyroid hormone), very high temperature, or palpitations (irregular heartbeat) to avoid severe complications.

Before taking this medication, inform your healthcare provider if you suffer from heart problems such as angina, coronary artery disease, or high blood pressure. Inform your doctor if you have fits (epilepsy) or panhypopituitarism (hormonal disorder). When patients with diabetes mellitus take this medication, their glycemic control may worsen, and they may require more insulin or antidiabetic medication. It is important to closely monitor blood glucose levels before starting, altering, or discontinuing thyroid hormone treatment with Thyronorm 37.5mcg Tablet.

Your physician determines the appropriate dose of this medication after checking body weight and thyroid function test results. Regular monitoring of thyroid function is essential to ensure the effectiveness of the medication.

Expert Tips

You will be advised to take regular thyroid function tests (T3, T4, and TSH) if you are taking Thyronorm 37.5mcg Tablet. This medication is not indicated for obesity or weight loss treatment. Regular blood sugar monitoring is advised by your physician, as this medicine causes fluctuation in blood sugar levels. Including iodized salt in your diet is essential because the thyroid gland requires iodine for making thyroid hormones.
