Product Introduction
Thyronorm 62.5mcg tablet contains levothyroxine, a synthetic form of the thyroid hormone thyroxine sodium. It is used to treat hypothyroidism, a chronic condition in which the thyroid gland produces inadequate thyroid hormone. The thyroid gland naturally releases hormones including tri-iodothyronine (T3) and thyroxine (T4), which regulate body metabolism and energy use. These hormones are essential for proper heart and digestive system function; without adequate levels, the body cannot function effectively.
Common side effects of Thyronorm 62.5mcg tablet include diarrhoea, vomiting, weight loss, heat intolerance, headache, nervousness, irregular periods, sweating, muscle weakness or cramps, and tremors. Contact your healthcare provider immediately if you experience swelling of the face, lips, or tongue, thyroid crisis (a severe reaction to elevated thyroid hormone levels), very high temperature, or palpitations (irregular heartbeat), as these may indicate serious complications.
Inform your healthcare provider before taking this medication if you have heart problems such as angina, coronary artery disease, or high blood pressure. Also report if you have epilepsy or panhypopituitarism (a hormonal disorder). Patients with diabetes mellitus may experience worsened glycemic control when taking this medication and may require increased insulin or antidiabetic medication. Close monitoring of blood glucose levels is important before starting, altering, or discontinuing thyroid hormone replacement with Thyronorm 62.5mcg tablet. Your physician will determine the appropriate dose based on body weight and thyroid function test results. Regular monitoring of thyroid function is essential to ensure treatment effectiveness.

Expert Tips
You will be advised to take regular thyroid function tests (T3, T4, and TSH) if you are taking Thyronorm 62.5mcg tablet. This medication is not indicated for obesity or weight loss treatment. Your physician advises regular blood sugar monitoring, as this medicine causes fluctuation in blood sugar levels. Including iodized salt in your diet is essential because the thyroid gland requires iodine for making thyroid hormones.
