Product Introduction

Tobamist Respules 5ml is an antibiotic medicine used to treat lung infections in patients with conditions such as cystic fibrosis or bronchiectasis. It contains tobramycin, which acts against harmful bacteria in the lungs and improves breathing. It is typically inhaled using a nebuliser, allowing direct delivery to the lungs. Tobamist is available in convenient single-dose units and eco pack respules to suit individual requirements. Alternative tobramycin formulations may be considered after consulting your doctor if cost-effectiveness is a priority. It is available in single units or bulk options such as the Tobamist Eco Pack Respules, which may offer better value.

How it works

Tobamist contains tobramycin, an aminoglycoside antibiotic. When inhaled via neb Tobamist or a nebuliser, the medication directly reaches the lungs where it disrupts bacterial protein production, killing the bacteria responsible for the infection. This helps improve lung function and reduces symptoms like coughing and breathlessness over time.

Side Effects

Like any medication, Tobamist may cause some side effects. Most are mild and temporary, but it's good to be aware: Hoarseness or voice changes Cough or sore throat Unusual taste in the mouth Breathing difficulties (rare) Ringing in the ears or hearing issues (especially with long-term use) Always inform your doctor if you notice any unusual or persistent symptoms. These Tobamist side effects may not occur in everyone.

Expert Tips

Use Tobamist Respules exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Use a clean and well-maintained nebuliser for every dose. Don’t mix it with other nebuliser solutions unless instructed. Complete the full course even if you feel better early. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it's almost time for the next one. While Tobamist Respules are commonly used via nebulisation, Tobamist injection may be used in hospital settings for more severe infections. The form of tobramycin you receive will depend on your condition and medical recommendation.
