Product Introduction
Tofajak Ointment 15gm contains the active ingredient tofacitinib, a disease-modifying antirheumatoid drug (DMARD) belonging to the class of immunomodulators. It is used alone or in combination with other medications to treat rheumatoid arthritis (a condition in which the body's immune system attacks the joints, causing pain, swelling, and loss of function) in adults who cannot tolerate or do not respond to other treatments. It is also indicated for psoriatic arthritis (a condition causing joint pain, swelling, and skin scaling) and moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis in adult patients. Additional uses include ankylosing spondylitis (an inflammatory disease of the spine) and active polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis, a chronic condition characterised by joint pain and swelling in patients aged 2 years and above. The medicine functions by reducing immune system activity. Inform your physician if you have severe blood infection, active tuberculosis, or liver problems. Notify your doctor if you have ever had or currently have hepatitis B infection, as this medicine may reactivate hepatitis B. Do not use Tofajak Ointment 15gm if you are allergic to tofacitinib or any other ingredient in this medicine. Inform your healthcare professional if you experience symptoms of infection, including fever, sweating, chills, muscle aches, cough, shortness of breath, weight loss, skin sores, difficulty or pain on swallowing, diarrhoea, or abdominal pain. Before starting treatment, inform your physician if you have kidney, heart, lung, or liver problems; a history of tuberculosis; high blood pressure; high cholesterol; or if you are a current or former smoker.
