Tofajak Ointment 30gm contains tofacitinib, a disease-modifying anti-rheumatoid drug belonging to the immunomodulator class. It is used alone or in combination with other medications to treat rheumatoid arthritis (a condition where the body attacks its joints, causing pain, swelling, and loss of function) in adults who cannot tolerate or do not respond to alternative medications. The ointment is also indicated for psoriatic arthritis (a condition causing joint pain, swelling, and skin scaling) and moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis in adult patients. Additional uses include ankylosing spondylitis (an inflammatory disease of the spine) and active polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis, a chronic condition causing joint pain and swelling in patients aged 2 years and older. The medicine functions by reducing immune system activity.

Inform your physician if you have severe blood infection, active tuberculosis, or liver problems. Notify your doctor if you have a history of hepatitis B infection, as this medicine may reactivate hepatitis B. Do not take Tofajak Ointment 30gm if you are allergic to tofacitinib or any other ingredient in this medicine.

Inform your healthcare professional if you develop symptoms of infection, including fever, sweating, chills, muscle aches, cough, shortness of breath, weight loss, skin sores, difficulty or pain when swallowing, diarrhoea, or stomach pain.

Tofajak Ointment 30gm works by inhibiting Janus kinases, and interferes with the transcription of genes involved in cell growth and differentiation.

This medicine is only for topical use. Always use Tofajak Ointment 30gm exactly as advised by your doctor. Avoid using the ointment inside your nose, mouth, or eyes. Before using the ointment, be sure your skin is completely dry. Your doctor will say the exact amount and time you should use this ointment.
